Southport Police Apprehend Suspect After Assault and Theft of £450 Worth Goods

A 49 year old man was arrested by Response and Resolution (R&R) Officers from Southport police station this morning, after an attempted theft of over £450 of goods from a shop on Chapel Street and assault of a member of staff in the shop. The goods were recovered by shop staff. The man is currently at a custody suite in Merseyside.
An update will be provided when a charging decision has been made.
