Torrential rain hits Southport several roads flooded
Torrential rain hits Southport this afternoon and several roads have become flooded. Lord Street West and under the Pier were hit with deep water The weather is expected to improve over the next few days.
Outbreaks of rain continuing to clear southeastwards across England and Wales, though persisting across the far southeast. Windy and showery for northern Scotland. Clearing skies elsewhere allowing a widespread frost and a few fog patches to form.
Tuesday:
Cloudy across southern England with some rain and drizzle, moving northwards later. Showers and strong winds in the far north easing. Plenty of sunshine elsewhere after a cold start.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Fine start in the north Wednesday, but cloud and rain spreading north, then lingering through Thursday, mainly in the west. Becoming drier and brighter with some sunshine on Friday.
