The Northern line will close between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Central from 11 October to 6 November for £3.5m of tunnel repairs, waterproofing and power-system upgrades. 02 CrimeSouthport man charged after attempted car break-ins on Falkland Road
Police have charged a 61-year-old Southport man with going equipped for theft and three counts of vehicle interference after reports of attempted car break-ins on Falkland Road. Officers say he was found wearing a balaclava and gloves. He was bailed to appear at Sefton Magistrates Court on 30 September.

08 CrimeFive dogs and weapons seized during Ormskirk police warrant
An intelligence-led warrant in Ormskirk led to the seizure of bladed articles, crossbows, suspected imitation firearms and other alleged offensive weapons. Five dogs were removed over welfare concerns and are receiving care. A man was arrested, while Lancashire Constabulary said community intelligence helped officers target criminality and protect vulnerable animals.
