BTP releases images after an assault and £2,000 e-bike stolen at Ainsdale station
British Transport Police has released images of a man they want to identify following the theft of a roughly £2,000 e-bike at Ainsdale station on 13 August. Police said the owner was assaulted when confronting him. Information can be given to officers on 61016 or 0800 40 50 40.

Avengers: Endgame Encore tickets go on sale at Vue Southport
Vue Southport will begin selling tickets at midnight on 1 September for the film’s return to cinemas on 25 September. Selected screenings will use Infinity Vision, with premium screens, laser projection and immersive sound. Limited-edition Marvel popcorn containers will also be available, subject to availability and pricing.

Police issue travel and safety advice ahead of Southport Air Show
Police are advising visitors to plan ahead for the Southport Air Show on 29 and 30 August, as road closures, diversions and security checks are expected. Marine Drive will close from 7am on both days. Temporary drone restrictions apply, and prohibited items include knives, fireworks and laser devices.

UK residents can sign up for new local air quality alerts
A new service allows people across the UK to select locations such as home, work or a local park and receive SMS or email alerts when pollution is forecast to be high. It tracks five pollutants, including particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide and ozone. Sign-up and information are available through GOV.UK.

Two arrested after cards from purse taken in Southport taxi used in three transactions
Two Southport residents have been arrested after cards taken from a purse left in a taxi were used in three transactions worth more than £64. CCTV from supermarkets helped police identify them. The 37-year-old woman and 39-year-old man were released on bail with conditions while enquiries continue.
