01 TransportRail replacement buses planned during 26-day Merseyrail closure
The Northern Line between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Central will close from 11 October to 6 November while Network Rail strengthens and waterproofs four tunnels and upgrades power systems. Replacement buses and amended services will operate, including changes affecting Southport journeys. Trains are expected to resume on Saturday 7 November.

02 What's OnAinsdale Beach event to explore and protect the Sefton Coast
Green Sefton and volunteer coast ambassadors will be at Ainsdale Beach on Sunday 20 September from noon until 3pm. Visitors can learn about the Sefton Coast, collect information booklets and sign dogs up as Dog Rangers. Organisers are encouraging everyone to protect, respect and enjoy the coastline and its wildlife.

Southport will visit Morecambe on Saturday 19 September for a 3pm second qualifying-round tie and the clubs’ first FA Cup meeting. 04 TransportPassengers warned to plan ahead during October West Coast works
West Coast Main Line services will change on 10–11 and 17–18 October while track renewals and HS2 construction take place. No trains will run between Stafford and Rugby via Nuneaton. Reduced services, diversions and replacement buses will operate, with passengers advised to allow extra time and check before travelling.
