Hand feeding returns to Martin Mere
It is the news you have all been waiting for - hand feeding has received the green light, and you can now feed the Martin Mere's living collection.
The news comes just in time for the February half term, with a brand new Mudfest event promising to be one-of-a-kind with a big mud kitchen, custom-built obstacle course, and more mud-tastic activities.
Nick Brooks, General Manager at WWT Martin Mere, said: “We know our visitors have missed being able to hand feed the birds and have been eagerly waiting to hear the news that it’s returning to the centre. We are pleased to announce that as of 9 February, visitors can head to our admissions and pick up a bag of bird feed for £1.50."
During your visit, you can see birds from around the world, representing wetlands in Australia, Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. You’ll be able to get closer to and feed swans like our beautiful black swans, geese such as our friendly nenes, and many ducks.
With so much to do all year round, why not take advantage of our memberships? From as little as £6.50 per month for a family, you can enjoy free unlimited visits to all of our wetland centres and support us in our conservation work.
