Violent Disorder in Southport: 33-year-old Arrested Brings Total to 130

Detectives investigating Violent Disorder in Merseyside have arrested a 130th person.

​The 33-year-old man from Wigan was arrested on suspicion of Violent Disorder in Southport. He has been conditionally bailed pending further inquiries.

​This arrest brings the total of arrests made so far to 130. 92 people have been charged, and 70 people put before the courts – bringing a total of 151 years 10 months sentencing.

​Detective Chief Inspector Tony Roberts is leading the investigation. He said: “Our investigation into the incidents in Merseyside continues with more arrests, charges and sentences being progressed on a daily basis.

“We continue to identify more people who attended the disorder in Merseyside and we will not stop until we’ve put everyone we possibly can before the courts.”
